Our Story
When Dr. Rekha Agarwal’s oldest son, Aman, moved to Chicago for college in 2021, she assumed he’d be fine with basic over-the-counter medications from the local pharmacy. However, early in the semester, Aman became so ill that he couldn’t leave his dorm to buy what he needed. It wasn’t until a friend stepped in to get medication for him that he finally began to recover. This experience inspired Dr. Agarwal to design a comprehensive box of essential medicines for Aman, ensuring he would never be unprepared again. When her younger son, Avi, went off to college a few years later, she made sure he had his own kit, equipped with everything necessary to manage common health issues on campus. Both Aman and Avi quickly realized the value of having these medications on hand, often sharing the contents of their kits with friends in need. Dr. Agarwal, Aman, and Avi’s experiences inspired them to help other students, sparking the idea to make the HealthyU Kit accessible to everyone.
